Sensible Shoes...

I love shoes. Generally speaking, I tend to go around bare foot or in flip flops as much as possible but I still love shoes. I think I have a Cinderella complex. I stick to sensible shoes for the most part because I'm chasing after kids, stepping over toys and well, I'm a klutz. So I drool over pretty footwear and dream of having better balance.

Awhile back I got a good deal on a subscription to Harper's Bazaar. Most of the time I pull out the perfume samples and put the rest in the recycling. I could never expect to be able to afford anything in it and let's be realistic, I have three kids. There's no way I'm shelling out $300 for a top to have apple juice or macaroni and cheese ground into it.

The last issue that came I couldn't wrap my head around. On the cover was Demi Moore (one of the most beautiful women in the world) standing on a spiral staircase next to a giraffe (for those of you that don't know, I've loved giraffes since my crib days) wearing the most HIDEOUS shoes I've ever seen!

I just don't get it. Fashion gurus are welcome to scoff at my lack of knowledge on all things stylish. But seriously, they look like some abstract piece of art meant to hold flowers.

  1. Hmmm. I have to agree with you on this one! I myself am no shoe expert, but WOW. Those are so U-G-L-Y shoes. My old tennis shoes don't look so bad afterall!
